Idaho State University requests operational and enrollment funding as administrators highlight enrollment-driven spending

Idaho State University briefed the Joint Finance-Appropriations Committee on Jan. 29 on its FY2026 budget request, student and personnel trends, and recent accounting clarifications.

Kevin Campbell, a budget analyst with the Legislative Services Office, reviewed ISU’s base figures and noted a technical error in the tuition-and-fees slide that misstates beginning fund balances; he told members he had checked Treasury balances and “happily, ISU has not overdrawn its bank account.” Campbell said he is tracking down the data discrepancy and will update the record if appropriate.
