Callahan County commissioners approved renewal and extension of the county’s bank depository agreements on Feb. 10, maintaining FirstBank Texas as the primary depository and subdepository agreements with First Financial Bank and Texas Heritage Bank.
County staff said the county issued the original depository bid in 2021 and the four-year review window requires action now. The agreements approved include a four-year contract with an option to extend for two additional years. Staff said all three banks agreed to the renewal terms and that the county will re-bid depository services in two years.
Megan, a representative from First Financial, thanked the court and said the bank looks forward to continuing to serve the county and to participate in future bids for items such as new vehicles or equipment.
Commissioner Wenham made the motion to approve the renewal and extension of the depository agreements; Commissioner Farmer seconded. The vote was unanimous.
