The committee approved additional language clarifying reporting requirements for the Office of Energy and Mineral Resources (OEMR) related to the newly created Energy Speed Council.
The adopted language requires OEMR to provide a report by Dec. 1, 2025, detailing how monies provided to the council were spent, measurable actions and findings, and an overview of planned, completed and ongoing projects supported by the council. The language also asks OEMR to justify any request for continued funding to aid future legislative decision‑making.
Budget staff noted this was not a new appropriation vote but a vote to include the language when the motion is transmitted to the Senate. The analyst said the language was intended to give the committee information to inform decisions on future funding.
Representative Tanner requested unanimous consent to accept the language and, with no objection, the committee ordered the language included.
