College of Western Idaho reports double‑digit enrollment growth, says EWA cap cut its funding

BOISE — The College of Western Idaho told the Joint Finance‑Appropriations Committee on the college’s budget day that its academic enrollment rose about 13% this year and that the school is facing capacity constraints in several career‑technical and health programs.
Kevin Campbell, a budget and policy analyst with the Legislative Services Office, told the committee the college’s FY 2024 state appropriation was $20,816,700 and that CWI typically spends 100% of its state allocation. Campbell also noted the college’s FY 2026 budget request appears at page 1081 of the legislative budget book and that the referendum creating CWI passed on 05/22/2007.
