Committee approves contract inflation and statewide cost-allocation adjustments

Division manager Keith Bybee told the committee the contract inflation request covers ongoing increases defined in vendor contracts (for example, multi-year lease escalators). The total request was $3,356,400, broken down as $1,291,500 from the general fund, $935,400 from dedicated funds and $1,129,500 from federal funds. Representative Miller moved the item and Senator Woodward seconded; the roll call showed unanimous support in both chambers and the motion passed.
On statewide cost allocation, Bybee described agency-by-agency adjustments that collectively totaled a net requested impact of $5,540,500: $3,636,200 from the general fund, $2,090,300 from dedicated funds and a $186,000 reduction from federal funds. The adjustments included reductions (for example, Attorney General and risk management billings) and increases (for the state controller, legislative audit billings and the office of information technology services). Co-chair Harmon moved the cost-allocation package; a senate member seconded and the committee recorded unanimous votes from both chambers.
