The Joint Finance-Appropriations Committee approved replacement items and IT-hardware funding for the Department of Health and Welfare’s Division of Indirect Support Services and attached language requiring a review of vehicle utilization.
The committee added funding for SQL Server replacement, replacement items and Office of Information Technology support hardware as requested. The roll call recorded a combined tally of 17 ayes, 1 nay, 2 absent/excused and the motion carried a due-pass recommendation.
Committee language requires the Department of Health and Welfare to evaluate its vehicle fleet and provide data to JFAC on utilization, vehicle-count appropriateness and vehicle use policies. The department’s report is due to JFAC through Legislative Services no later than Dec. 15 of the year specified in the motion language. The clear language in the packet ties the appropriation to adherence to the reporting and review requirements.
