PERSI requests continued pension software upgrade funding and limited board-travel support

PERSI requested one-time funding (year 4 of a five-year project) to update its pension administration software ($3,000,001), $12,500 for board travel to two industry conferences, a general inflation adjustment for operating expenses, and IT hardware replacement funds.
Representative Tanner moved and the committee voted to add the requested dedicated-fund amounts for FY26 (the motion described $3,000,001 one-time for pension software, $12,500 for board travel and $234,501 in one-time IT hardware). The motion passed with a combined committee tally reported as 18 ayes, 2 nays across both panels and will be carried to the floor with a due-pass recommendation.
Ending: The committee noted the upgrade improves data security, including multifactor authentication, and that the board-travel request was reduced in committee action. The appropriation was forwarded to the floor for final action.
