Commission for the Blind requests $28,900 in IT replacements

The Idaho Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired presented a one-time $28,900 IT replacement request to the Joint Finance-Appropriations Committee on Jan. 15.
Brooke Dupree, a budget and policy analyst with the Legislative Services Office, said the request covers six desktops, eight laptops with docking stations, four routers, one network switch and seven wireless access points. The replacements were recommended by the Office of Information Technology Services and are included in the governor’s recommendation; the request is funded from the general fund.
Administrator Cumminghand (as recorded in the agency’s attendance) was in the hearing room to answer any further questions. The committee had no substantive questions at the presentation; the item will be considered as part of the committee’s maintenance and replacement-item deliberations.
