Frances Lippett, a budget and policy analyst with the Legislative Services Office, presented corrected language to the Joint Finance-Appropriations Committee on Jan. 13 to align the committee's CEC recommendation letter with the motion it passed the prior week.
Lippett told the committee two corrections were necessary: first, the motion that passed did not include previously drafted flexibility language tied to a salary increase of $1.55 per hour per full-time position; and second, the committee meant the 4.5% market-based increase for IT and engineering employees to be in addition to the $1.55-per-hour-per-FTP increase. "The motion in committee that passed did not include that flexibility language," Lippett said, then described the IT/engineering clarification.
A committee member asked whether the IT/engineering increase would apply to all IT and engineering staff regardless of agency and Lippett said the original motion applied to the employees on the IT and engineering salary schedule and may not include nonclassified employees of constitutional officers.
A member asked for unanimous consent to accept the corrected letter. There were no objections, and the committee ordered the technical revisions accepted.
