Panel Introduces RS to Require Schools Post Materials Online, Limit K–3 Instruction on Sexual Orientation/Gender Identity

Representative Dale Hawkins, R‑District 2, asked the committee to introduce RS 32404, a measure that would require public schools to publish learning materials — including textbooks, course syllabi and supplemental materials — on district websites each year by Oct. 1, and would prohibit classroom instruction by public school personnel on sexual orientation or gender identity from kindergarten through third grade or "in a manner that is not age appropriate or developmentally appropriate for students and in accordance with state standards."
