Representative Kiesling invited members of the Macon County High School football team to the House chamber to recognize the program’s first Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association (TSSAA) 4A state championship, won Dec. 7.
Kiesling told the House the team’s first‑ever state title reflected the players’ work and the community’s support. She singled out seniors for their leadership and urged underclassmen to build on the victory. Senator Yeager congratulated the team on the statewide recognition during brief remarks on the floor.
Coach Kyle Shoulders addressed the chamber and thanked Representative Kiesling, Senator Yeager and others who helped arrange the visit. Shoulders described Macon County as a small, close‑knit community and said the team’s motto of “together” captured the season’s effort. He also apologized playfully for arriving late to the Capitol because of parking and thanked the House for the honor.
Representative Kiesling invited the team and coach to pose for a photo on the House floor following the recognition.
