Ashland Middle School roof replacement set for July; AHS modernization and seismic work advancing

For the science seismic project staff reported interior shear-wall installation in the library is complete, contractors are working on finish items such as drywall, ceiling tile and painting, and some classroom work is ahead of schedule and expected to be done by July. Exterior work includes sheathing and siding installation, placement of structural steel components and work on the quad area; paver installation at the courtyard is expected to begin late in the month.
Staff noted that phases requiring early access to building areas were coordinated with teachers and students and that facilities and school staff accommodated early access so contractors could make rapid progress. The board thanked staff for the update and had no additional questions.
