BOISE, Idaho — The Idaho House of Representatives convened Jan. 30, 2025, recorded a roll call showing 54 members present and 16 absent and excused, approved the journal for the previous legislative day and moved a set of bills and resolutions onto committee and reading calendars.
The session opened with the presiding officer saying, “House will be in order.” The roll call was recorded as “54 present, 16 absent and excused, majority being present.” The House then approved the journal of the Jan. 29 legislative day after a motion read as “Moved by Skogg, seconded by Gannon.” The motion passed on voice vote, and the journal was recorded as approved.
The clerk read messages from the Senate and other committee reports. The House received a Senate message transmitting Senate Bill 1019, described by the clerk as relating to firearms, explosives and false reports and referred that measure to the judiciary/rules and administration committee for further action. The clerk also reported that House Bill 14 had been returned from the Senate and would be referred to judiciary and rules and administration for enrolling.
The clerk read a series of committee reports and first‑reading summaries. Several committees were announced as not meeting on Friday, Jan. 31 according to the clerk’s reading.
On other floor business, a member requested unanimous consent that members of the Appropriations Committee be counted as present for the day; there was no objection and the members were counted present. The House concluded business by adopting a motion to adjourn; the presiding officer announced the House would reconvene at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 3, 2025.
