Boise — Representative Brooke Green filed a letter with the House on Jan. 10, 2025, designating Maria Shubin of Boise as a qualified substitute for Legislative District 18B, Ada County, effective Jan. 10 through Jan. 14, 2025.
The chief clerk read the letter to the House. In the reading, Green wrote, “I have the honor to inform you that pursuant to Title 67-4-12 Idaho Code, I have designated Maria Shubin of Boise, Idaho as a qualified substitute for Legislative District 18B, Ada County, state of Idaho. This designation is effective January 10 and will continue until 01/14/2025.” The clerk noted that “the oath was previously administered and her letter of appointment is filed with the chief clerk.”
The action was recorded as a communication to the House; no roll-call vote occurred. The designation will allow Shubin to serve in Green’s place during the stated period while Green undergoes surgery, according to the letter filed with the clerk.
At the time the designation was read, the House also offered well-wishes for Representative Green’s recovery. The reading of the appointment and the filing of the letter completed the formal steps recorded in the House journal entry for Jan. 10.
