Representative Brent Crane presented RS 31909 to the House State Affairs Committee, describing it as an affirmation of the longstanding tradition of offering a prayer before legislative business in the United States and Idaho.
"RS 31909 deals with the long standing tradition that we've had in The United States as well as in the state of Idaho of offering a prayer before we do business," Crane said, explaining the resolution's purpose. He told the committee the House and Senate were each introducing a similar resolution and that he had contacted the sponsor about whether to make it concurrent.
Representative Mickelson moved to introduce RS 31,909; the motion carried on a voice vote.
