BOISE, Feb. 14, 2025 — The Joint Finance-Appropriations Committee approved funding for new and existing medical residency slots across Idaho and adopted committee language urging expansion of OBGYN fellowship capacity and regular reporting by the Idaho Graduate Medical Education Committee.
Details of the approvals: The committee added ongoing general‑fund dollars to support internal medicine and family medicine residency positions in Boise, Eastern Idaho, Nampa, Pocatello, Burley and Rupert, and approved funding for Idaho’s dental education program and a child psychiatry residency allocation.
