Cecily Metcalfe, board services program manager for the Division of Occupational and Professional Licenses and executive officer for the board, said the rewrite follows the division’s red‑tape reduction and rule‑writer manual: it removed duplicative language, updated outdated provisions and reorganized the chapter. The board no longer offers its own examination “due to a lack of utilization and high costs,” Metcalfe said; the rule package eliminates exam and exam‑material fees and removes temporary‑permit language redundant with statute.
Senator Guthrie moved to approve the docket; Senator Burnt seconded. The committee approved the pending rule as final by voice vote.
