Senate Education committee sends Sherilyn Baer reappointment to Senate floor with do-pass recommendation

The Idaho Senate Education Committee on an unspecified January 2025 date voted by voice to send the gubernatorial reappointment of Sherilyn Baer to the Idaho Public Charter School Commission to the full Senate with a “do pass” recommendation.

The motion to approve the reappointment was made by Senator Carlson and, after clarification and an amendment to specify the recommendation to the floor, was seconded by Senator Semarath. Committee members agreed to send the nomination to the Senate floor; the committee used a voice vote and no roll-call tally was recorded in the transcript.

The committee’s chair presided over the motion and recognized Senator Carlson when he moved the reappointment.
