Clarkdale showcases sixth-grade art in affordable housing outreach; winners to appear in final housing plan

The Clarkdale Town Council recognized sixth-grade artists from the Clarkdale-Jerome School District at its June 24 meeting as part of the town’s ‘Hopes, Dreams and Housing’ outreach component of the affordable-housing plan.
Community development staff said they partnered with an art teacher at the Clarkdale-Jerome School to ask students to depict what home and being a good neighbor mean to them. The town will display the student artwork in public spaces and include images in the final housing plan and in outreach materials.
Staff announced the top three student artists by name: first place Elora Bickford, second place Shiloh Echols and third place Macy Olsen. The council and staff thanked the school and participating teachers for their help and said all student entries would be showcased as part of the housing-plan outreach.
Ending: The student artwork will be used in the final housing plan and shared with local businesses and the town’s social media channels for community education about attainable housing.
