Division of Financial Management seeks one analyst position to strengthen reporting and oversight

Christopher LaHosa presented the Division of Financial Management’s (DFM) budget request to the committee and described the budget bureau’s core duties. The Director’s office requested one additional financial management analyst senior position (ongoing personnel costs of about $118,100 plus $5,800 one‑time onboarding/computer costs) to augment financial reporting and oversight capacity, funded from the indirect cost recovery fund.
Laurie Wolf, DFM administrator, told the committee the vacancy numbers previously shown in materials reflected turnover earlier in the year and that the office is fully staffed at the time of testimony. Wolf said the additional position would improve the division’s capacity to deliver timely reporting and oversight, particularly in light of recent enterprise financial system work (LUMA) and other statewide reporting needs.
DFM also requested IT replacement items recommended by ITS (network switches) totalling roughly $21,100 in one‑time costs. The request is small relative to other agency requests but DFM said it will improve their capacity to monitor and report on state finances.
The committee did not take votes during the hearing; members thanked DFM for the brief presentation and acknowledged the role DFM plays in coordinating budget and financial data across the executive branch.
