Airport updates: JetBlue and American set start dates, terminal rehab and parking changes planned

Taj, the airport director, reported JetBlue will begin flights Dec. 11 and American Airlines is expected to start on Feb. 12, which will bring three airlines to Vero Beach within months. Airport staff emphasized these carriers approached the city without incentive offers; the airport did not solicit them or offer financial inducements, staff said.
Terminal rehabilitation work is already underway. Phase 1 focuses on the west-side baggage makeup area between the short-term parking and the terminal; contractors will use that area as a temporary arriving passenger exit lane so…
