Committee hears two gubernatorial nominees for Outfitters board and Parks board; no votes taken

Lonnie Allen of Warm River introduced himself as an outfitter since 1987, a mayor of Warm River and a long-time commercial outfitter with lodge operations and fly shops in the state. Allen told senators he has served on tourism and nonprofit boards and said outfitters have partnerships with farmers and conservation groups. Senators asked Allen informal questions about community size and local government; Allen said she would be available for a formal committee vote at the next meeting.
Jim Keating of Hailey introduced himself as a resident of Idaho for 17 years, a former executive of the Blaine County Recreation District and the current city administrator of Sun Valley. Keating described his qualifications managing recreation organizations, growing earned income while maintaining affordability and said he is a regular user of parks and campsites. He answered committee questions about managing demand at popular parks and said he would treat residents' access seriously. The committee did not vote on either nomination; both nominees were told votes would occur at the next committee meeting or on the floor following committee approval.
