Parks staff told the commission that the Germantown farmers market had a steady season and that vendors will be invited to a Nov. 1 roundtable to discuss improvements and next year’s planning.
Director Stanridge reported that 32 vendors signed up for the season and that market attendance averaged about 12–15 vendors every Saturday. He said most vendors reported making money and were satisfied with the program. Stanridge invited vendors to a Nov. 1 meeting at Village Hall, where staff will provide pizza and water and discuss vendor feedback. "I've invited all the vendors to meet up here at Village Hall. I'll provide, pizza and soda and water for them and hope to sit around and have a roundtable discussion on what they would like to see," he said.
Staff also said they are exploring running the market at Environments Park on July 4 (a Saturday next year) to capture parade crowds and a later start time for a captive audience.
What’s next: Parks staff will hold the vendor roundtable on Nov. 1 and will continue vendor outreach for the remaining market dates this season.
