Speakers prioritize high school expansion and campus security for upcoming bond discussions

Participants at a Deer Creek School District meeting said the next bond or capital plan should prioritize high-school expansion, campus safety and middle-school facilities.

"I think the the top priorities right now and then, the foreseeable future need to be maintaining, the safety and security of our campus, and investing in that where where we need to, be it new construction or renovation," said Commenter 3. "I think it's making sure that the facilities and classroom space in our high school fit our ever growing needs. Making sure that our middle school students have access to great extracurricular spaces as well."

Commenter 2 said bond planning should be reviewed annually and directed to the district's greatest needs: "I think it needs to be continue to be readdressed and relooked at every year and see what is the priority for the bonds as we continue to grow. Obviously, there is great talk and discussion about our high school, and growing that out and building that out. They continue to look at all the infrastructure, the buses, the vehicles within Deer Creek, and evaluate where the money would be best spent for bonds in the future."
