One board member said the district’s transportation office “were incredible” after helping reduce a student’s daily bus ride and credited a staff member named Steven Jones with personally checking the student’s boarding on the first day. “They cut her drive time down by 20 minutes,” the board member said, praising staff as “unsung heroes of Parkway.”
Another board member noted that next week is Bus Safety Week and encouraged the community to recognize bus drivers and safety procedures. The comments came amid broader board discussions about fall activities, parent-teacher conferences and community events.
The district did not take formal action on the public comment; board members said staff would continue to monitor routes and parent concerns.
