The union singled out several areas it wants prioritized: timely, concrete plans to address curriculum audit findings that were expected to be implemented by the 2024——1925 school year; clearer supports for lab classes; review and follow-up on ESL testing and placement; and distribution of the literacy committee plan to stakeholders.
Superintendent Levisco acknowledged the meeting and thanked participants, describing the sessions as "climate checks" intended to keep dialogue open while the audit work continues. He emphasized that additional reports and follow-up discussions would be provided as the district continues to analyze the audit and develop next steps.
Gordon said the union hopes district reports, including the superintendent—s and curriculum director—s forthcoming updates, will reflect collaborative, proactive plans rather than measures intended mainly to demonstrate compliance.
The board heard Gordon during the public-comment portion of the meeting and moved on to its agenda items after closing public comment by voice vote.
