Separately the commission approved a resolution to hire John D. Childress as a full-time caretaker (vote recorded as 5 yes, 0 no, 1 abstention). A commissioner stated the abstention was due to a family relationship. The commission also approved payment of Thompson Tractor invoices (vote recorded as 5–0–1).
After regular business, the commission voted to enter executive session "for the purpose of discussing the consideration the governmental body is willing to offer or accept in considering the purchase, sale, exchange, lease, or market value of real property." The motion to enter executive session passed with all voting members in favor (record noted as 6–0). The chair advised the public the matter discussed in executive session could be actionable when the commission returned to open session.
