Delaware Valley School Board approves routine agenda items, personnel actions and expels three students

The Delaware Valley School District Board of Education approved a package of routine agenda items, personnel recommendations, budget moves and construction change orders at its Oct. 16, 2025, meeting. The board also voted to expel three students and rejected a motion to amend the agenda to add two resolutions.
The board approved the minutes of the Sept. 18, 2025, regular meeting; accepted the treasurer's report; authorized payment of bills across the general, cafeteria, capital reserve and internal service funds; and accepted personnel actions including resignations, new appointments, child-rearing leave requests, status changes and uncompensated leave. The board approved additional volunteers listed under item 10A and granted tenure to John Walcott, Burke Holter and Morgan Presto under item 10B.
Board members approved a 2025–26 survey (item 10C) and adopted board policies listed as items 1 through 11 under item 10D. The board approved budgetary transfers as listed in item 10E and, after discussion earlier in the meeting about timing, approved item 10F authorizing a transfer of surplus to the district’s capital reserve fund upon completion of the 2024–25 audit but no later than June 30, 2026, consistent with GASB 54.
The board approved miscellaneous change orders for 2024–25 renovation projects (items under 10G) and several specific change-order groupings that were listed in the packet. The board approved three expulsions: item 10H (a 45-day expulsion), item 10I (expulsion for the remainder of the first semester) and item 10J (expulsion for the remainder of the 2025–26 school year).
