Board agrees to rewrite Together We Build agreement; directs staff to prepare three-year, $25,000-per-year plan

Jackson County supervisors discussed a previously signed agreement with Together We Build and instructed staff to draft a new agreement to allow continued annual payments to the organization.
County staff told the board that an agreement signed on Aug. 13, 2024, permitting a $25,000 payment to Together We Build had expired on June 30, 2025, and that the auditor does not have authority to make that payment without a valid agreement in effect. Board members recalled prior multi-year commitments and asked staff to rewrite the agreement.
Supervisors discussed whether earlier commitments covered multiple years and agreed to authorize staff to draft a new three-year agreement to provide $25,000 per year. One supervisor said the county had previously planned multi-year payments and expressed that the intent was to continue the commitment; staff said the expired agreement must be replaced before payment can be made.
The board did not authorize immediate payment at the Oct. 21 meeting; instead it directed staff to prepare a new agreement reflecting $25,000 per year for three years and return with the revised agreement for formal approval.
