The planning commission recommended creation of a new Tax Incremental District (TID) Project Area 21 covering the South 90th Street and West Greenfield Avenue site and found the proposed project area in conformance with the city’s 2045 comprehensive plan.
Staff said the property is zoned RC (residential), which permits multi-dwelling residential use that had been previously approved, and that future land use identifies the site for high-density residential development. The proposed TID creation is intended to support redevelopment on the former St. Aloysius Catholic Church and school site; the buildings have been removed and the site is currently vacant, staff said.
Motion and outcome: The commission voted to recommend that the proposed TID Project Area 21 be found consistent with the 2045 plan and proceed in the TID creation process.
What’s next: The TID creation recommendation will follow the statutory process, including public notice, hearings and Common Council action.
