The planning commission reviewed and recommended approval of a plan amendment for Tax Incremental District (TID) Project Area 7 (Summit Place Business Park), finding it to be in general conformance with the City of West Allis 2045 comprehensive plan.
Staff explained that the district’s current and planned zoning and uses (a mix of I-1 light industrial, C-3 commercial and high-density residential designations in the future land-use map) are consistent with the 2045 plan. The amendment presented includes adding approximately $800,000 of project costs associated with the acquisition of a warmer-water-passing site and authorizing transfers of excess revenue to other TIDs (staff cited approximately $1.2 million to TID No. 6 and $215,000 to TID No. 13) as permitted by state statute.
Staff recommended the commission find the TID amendment in conformance with the comprehensive plan; the commission approved the recommendation.
Motion and outcome: A motion to recommend approval of TID Project Area 7 plan amendment was made, seconded and approved by the commission.
What’s next: The recommendation will proceed through the city’s TID amendment process and any required public hearings and Common Council approvals.
