Superintendent introduces senior leadership team and recognizes LGE Community Credit Union as partner of the month

Partner recognition
Janice DeGaul, the district’s business and community outreach coordinator, introduced representatives from LGE Community Credit Union: Darlene Golden, manager of the Dallas LGE branch, and Cassie Farmer, community engagement manager. Staff described LGE’s regular support for Paulding County High School, participation on the Paulding Education Foundation board, and contributions including financial-literacy classes, food-pantry donations, volunteer support at athletic events, coffee/snack stations at pre-planning events, and staff appreciation meals.
Senior leadership introductions and readiness updates
Superintendent Barnett and associate leaders introduced members of the district leadership team and summarized departmental responsibilities. Highlights included:
- Technology: Craig Ellison, executive director of technology, described four departments (network operations, support and services, enterprise systems, instructional technology) and named Clay Burnett (network operations), Peter Guerrero (support and services), Kelly Couch (enterprise systems) and Dr. Jim Long (instructional technology).
- Human resources and business services: DeCarol White (chief talent officer) and Anna Durham (chief financial officer) oversee employee services, certification/employee relations, accounting/grants (Abby Dyer), planning and analysis (Amber Thesma), business services (Brett Cave) and payroll (Jennifer Shipp). Cole Crowder serves as director of procurement.
- Teaching and learning, school leadership, safety and student services: Associate Superintendent Tiffany Frasier introduced Theresa Benefield (assistant superintendent of teaching and learning) and other directors responsible for K–12 curriculum, school improvement, assessment, federal programs, and school operations. Facilities and support teams introduced Gary Plunkett (executive director of school supports), Doug Carey (executive director of facilities), Brian Ragsdale (maintenance director), and others.
Operational statistics cited
- Central registration: Since July 7 staff reported 3,048 completed enrollments during the registration period.
- School nurses: The district reported 37 returning nurses and two positions that were replaced from an existing pipeline after one retirement and one staff relocation.
- Maintenance and facilities workload: Staff stated maintenance handles more than 10,000 work orders annually and more than 100 after-hours calls; district facilities staff oversee more than 4,000,000 square feet and roughly 40 maintenance employees.
Why it matters: The presentation provided the board and public an organizational overview of who is responsible for major operational areas as the school year begins, and recognized a business partner supporting students and staff.
