Parks department proposes small fee increases for 2026 to boost cost recovery

Key proposed adjustments include: a $1 increase per public swim entry (children 022 remain free), $3 increase for pool-deck umbrella rentals, $2 increase for swim lessons, and a $5 increase for swim team participation. Camp Carroll Lodge proposed a $75 increase for the initial day rental (lodge and lodge-plus-lawn packages) to better recover cleaning and maintenance costs. Liberty Lake Regional Park Campground proposals include a $1 increase for tent camping, $2 for RV and cabin rentals, and $3 for the single group tent site.
Parks staff said other fees (fields, courts, shelters, special events) remain unchanged after recent updates. Commissioners asked about usage at Camp Carroll (about 18 reservations in the current year, lower than prior years due to staff vacancies) and were told staff hopes to refill a coordinator role to improve scheduling and last-minute bookings.
Next steps: staff will schedule the formal fee resolution for the next Tuesday legislative agenda for commissioner consideration.
