The board considered two options presented by staff and chose “Option A,” which retains third-Thursday meetings with noon sessions in March, June, September and December. Tom, a Parks and Recreation staff member, outlined the two standard calendar options and said the earlier scheduling conversation was intended to give the board time to plan.
Jason, a Parks and Recreation Advisory Board member, moved to adopt meeting schedule Option A with quarterly noon meetings; Stephanie, a board member, seconded. The motion passed unanimously.
Board members who spoke during the discussion said they favored keeping some noon meetings to avoid conflicts with evening programs such as theater and swim, and noted that noon sessions can be more convenient for members who work evenings. Some members also said 6 p.m. meetings could improve public participation, but the board concluded a mix of times better balanced member availability and public access.
The board also recorded routine procedural votes earlier in the meeting, including approval of the agenda and the July 17 meeting minutes, and moved to adjourn at the meeting’s close.
The board will meet next on Nov. 13, 2025 (moved up one week from the usual third-Thursday schedule), and staff said more calendar and event details will be posted with the 2026 schedule.
