Goldendale Fire Chief Noah Hall told the City Council the countywide and city burn ban has been lifted and that residents may obtain burn permits at City Hall, but he cautioned that dry conditions remain and urged residents to be careful.

"The burn ban has been lifted, to the whole county as well as the city limits. Burn permit can be picked up at the city hall," Hall said. He added: "It's still dry out there. It doesn't mean just go willy nilly with the burning."

City leaders acknowledged the change and reiterated the need for caution; no additional fire-related actions were taken by the council during the meeting.
