Monica Stanley entered a no-contest plea to following too closely (case 2024TK12202) in Clayton County State Court on Dec. 16, 2024. The state said the collision occurred June 16, 2024, on Highway 85 near Forest Parkway when the driver in front either changed lanes or stopped and Stanley struck the vehicle from behind.
Assistant prosecutor Miss Bing presented the factual basis, and Stanley confirmed her plea. The state recommended a $150 fine; the court announced it would suspend the fine. The judge reminded Stanley of standard plea waivers and the consequences of a no-contest plea (including possible immigration effects for noncitizens).
The court released Stanley and advised her to complete any follow-up with the traffic court office as required.
