Food service task force reports partners, allergy protocols and a 'food gap' subgroup working on out-of-school meals

The task force also reported work on life-threatening food-allergy protocols and said the food service department is considering moving away from some unitized packaged meals toward more fresh options such as salad bars where feasible. The board noted those changes would require attention to staffing and facilities, and the task force asked staff and board members to contribute ideas to district leadership.
Board members heard that the district will continue discussion about a share-table policy and that the food service director, Mister Young, has engaged with partners on those efforts. The task force is proposing a longer-term agenda that includes strategic goals for food service rather than only routine operational updates.
No formal board action was taken; the report will be posted online with meeting minutes and the task force will continue planning.
