Chair Childress says county exploring reflection area for victims of gun violence on DuPage County campus

She noted the county has shifted toward cremation for many families and that a communal reflection space would provide a place for people to remember lost loved ones.
Committee members did not vote on the proposal, and staff said there were no concrete plans at the time of the meeting. The remarks were part of the chair's opening comments; no formal agenda item or public hearing was held on the topic.
Committee members later moved on to the minutes and consent agenda. The discussion of a reflection area remains at the conceptual stage pending any future agenda item or formal proposal from staff.
