The Dayton City School District Board of Education on Aug. 19 approved a resolution that conditions district-issued RTA bus passes on students wearing a visible Dayton student ID and signing the RTA code of conduct, and directs that district-issued passes be picked up at the service center. The motion passed 4-3.
The resolution, introduced by Superintendent Doctor Lawrence, says students receiving a district-provided RTA bus pass must display a visible student ID while using the pass and that students and parents must sign the RTA's code of conduct. The district also said it will assign safety and security staff to downtown hubs, at an expected cost of about $30,000, and that non-DPS users will pick up passes at the service center rather than at school sites.
