Board approves consent items, personnel slate and contracts in unanimous votes

The Paulding County Board of Education approved its agenda, the Aug. 5 regular-session minutes, a four-item consent agenda and a personnel report covering items 1 through 77 during its Aug. 19 meeting. Board members voted unanimously on each measure.

The consent agenda items approved as a package included: the local board training plan for the 2025—26 school year; award of RFP 25-611 (construction management and risk services) for South Paulding High School renovation/modification to RK Redding Construction; renewal of IFB 323-2728 for pressure washing services to Midland's Pressure Wash Services; and approval of an architectural contract with Robertson Loya Roof for design of an elementary school prototype. The superintendent presented those items and asked the board to approve items A through D as a single consent package.

The personnel report approved under action items covered items numbered 1 through 77 as presented to the board. The superintendent recommended approval; the motion carried unanimously after a standard second.

Other formal votes during the meeting included adoption of the meeting agenda at the start of the session and approval of the Aug. 5 regular-session minutes; both measures passed unanimously after board motion and second. The board also moved into and returned from an executive session for land, legal and personnel matters; no votes were taken in executive session except for the routine approval of executive-session minutes when required.

Board members did not record individual roll-call tallies in the public transcript beyond unanimous approval and standard "aye" responses recorded for motions.
