The Encinitas Planning Commission voted 4-0 on Oct. 2 to continue agenda item 8a to the commission’s Nov. 6 meeting at the applicant’s request and to approve a three-item consent calendar by the same margin.
The continuance came after an applicant representative told the commission that staff had not provided additional guidance needed to finalize a staff report and recommend a decision. “We are ready for your vote, and we'd like to hear your deliberation,” the representative said, asking commissioners to follow up with staff on when the report and a return date would be provided.
Commissioners took the applicant’s request under changes to the agenda and then voted to continue item 8a to the Nov. 6 meeting. A motion to continue the item passed on a 4-0 vote. Later in the meeting the commission approved the consent calendar, which contained three items, by a 4-0 vote.
Chair Dalton was absent; the record was updated at the start of the meeting to indicate four planning commissioners were present. No additional staff timelines for the staff report were provided during oral communications.
The commission adjourned the meeting and noted the next regular meeting date; the continued item will return to the commission on Nov. 6 as requested by the applicant.
