City planning staff updated the commission that a judge has signed an injunction ordering a car‑sales operation near the Greyhound bus station to comply with previously imposed conditions within 14 days of the judge’s order or face enforcement action by the sheriff.
Staff said they testified in court and that the injunction gives the business 14 days from last Thursday to comply with the conditions imposed by the city; if the owner fails to comply the sheriff would be authorized to shut the business down. The staff member noted the lot in question abuts a VFW site and lies near Government Street; the city is monitoring compliance and expects an update at the next meeting.
A commissioner asked whether the lot adjacent to Captain D’s was the one in question; staff said it was two lots over and that encroachment issues at other nearby lots also remain on the city’s radar. The staff update noted that a related trial had been postponed and that enforcement remains ongoing.
