Katie, the Community Recreation Commission chair, and representatives from Villa Park Youth Baseball presented the recommendation, saying the league would undertake and fund the initial work. "This would be at the cost of Villa Park Youth Baseball," Katie said, noting the organization’s goal to improve play surfaces and safety for local youth.
Trustees voted to direct staff to prepare a simple agreement that clarifies scope, responsibilities and timelines; the board will consider the actual agreement at a future meeting. The motion to direct staff passed on a roll call vote; staff said the village would return with a draft agreement and details about construction timing and required permits.
