The site’s prior regulatory history included PUD 94 with underlying commercial general zoning; the applicant seeks to develop under the city’s new RSP (residential preservation) district created in the updated zoning ordinance.
Community Development staff said the planning commission recommended approval 5-0 and that there was no recorded public opposition at the planning commission meeting. Council members were told the new preservation/compact single-family zones require a set amount of open space and green space, which the development will include as one of the city’s early projects under the new zoning rules.
A councilor moved and seconded approval, and a roll call vote carried the motion. Staff and the planning commission will finalize plat paperwork and required guarantees or infrastructure agreements before recording.
