Staff said both grants were applied for in August and that the council’s resolution was the final piece missing from the application. They estimated the city should hear back on the application “no longer than December at the earliest, January at the latest.”
Council members asked about relationships between the grant and an earlier $119,880 contract for architects for the farmers market; staff said the architectural contract is separate from the grant funding and both would support completion of the same overall project.
No final action was taken in the work session; staff will proceed with the application process and return with updates when the grant decision is received.
