Fouquet said his property’s renourishment contract allows equipment placement up to one quarter mile from parking but that current placement removes parking spaces and creates security concerns because vehicles and unattended children are left near the equipment. He asked the board to consider permitting placement nearer to his buildings — "We just want to go a sixteenth of a mile" — and said he had obtained advice from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers before moving the spots. Fouquet said he had also been in contact with county staff and asked for assistance from commissioners representing the area.
The chair invited Fouquet to remain after the meeting for staff to follow up; no formal action was taken during the session.
