The City Commission unanimously approved Oct. 6 a new contract for federal lobbying services with the Color 9 Group after a competitive procurement.
Jennifer Jorgensen, director of governmental affairs, told commissioners the city issued a competitive solicitation after the existing contract expired, received two bids and selected the incumbent Color 9 Group based on evaluation criteria. Jorgensen said the firm has helped the city secure approximately $51.7 million in federal funding for projects including Lido Beach shore protection, ARPA/CARES Act funds, RAISE and other appropriations.
Commissioners asked about an $11,000 increase in the proposed contract price; Jorgensen said the increase reflected market conditions and the greater complexity of recent appropriations work, and that the Color 9 proposal remained lower than the other respondent. Commissioners voted to approve the contract; the motion passed unanimously.
