The San Francisco County Transportation Authority on Oct. 7 reappointed Austin Milford Rosales and Naj (Najwanda) Daniels to represent Districts 6 and 10, respectively, on the Transportation Authority’s 11-member Community Advisory Committee (CAC).
Amelia Wally, senior program analyst, explained the CAC’s appointment process and noted applicants must be San Francisco residents and appear before the board. Rosales, the incumbent for District 6, told commissioners he is an avid cyclist and transit rider with a background in engineering and public policy and said he supports climate and Vision Zero goals. Daniels said she is a District 10 native who works as a union representative with SEIU 1021 and described her perspective representing working-class travel concerns.
Commissioners Denis Dorsey and Walton praised both nominees; Walton emphasized Daniels’ consistent voice representing workers and the community, and Dorsey thanked Rosales for his service. Commissioner Walton moved to reappoint both candidates; the motion was seconded and approved. The roll call recorded nine ayes and the motion passed.
