Board moves to prioritize Springstead track resurfacing; Central track planning estimated at $1.5 million

Board members asked whether major renovations at Springstead — including building front reconfigurations and roof work — would force redoing the track; staff replied the track timing was coordinated so the field and underlying work would not be undone by other building projects. The staff member said there is limited space for retention ponds at Springstead, which factored into the need to upgrade the field.
No formal contract awards or budget votes occurred during the informal meeting. The board's direction was administrative: facilities will put Springstead resurfacing in the queue and proceed with planning for the Central track, with further cost and scheduling details to come to the board as bids and plans are developed.
