The council also approved a $70,000 contract for a senior-center pergola, accepted multiple special-event permit requests and authorized a $1,000 donation from the council president’s discretionary fund for the KIDO event.
Councilors also passed a resolution opposing a proposed moratorium on new natural gas connections on Aquidneck Island, citing concerns about equity and energy access if newer connections were blocked while other parts of the fuel supply chain were not restricted.
